Remington Youth Basketball
Remington Youth Basketball began in mid October 2010 and will run every Friday from 5:00-6:30pm through May 6th 2011. The program is held at the Church of the Guardian Angel and is open to boys and girls age 8-14. Participants learn team building skills and self discipline through basic basketball training and conditioning. In addition to this participants enjoy open gym play. We are looking for more participants so please spread the word! If you have any questions, are interested in helping coach, or if you wish to help out with the program in other ways, please contact Gena Upshaw at gupshaw1@gmail.com. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you!

Remington Youth Community Radio
(see the Youth Programming Page)
Remington Youth Community Radio Class is brought to you by Art on Purpose and GRIA. It meets every Tuesday evening from 5:30 – 7:30. This class is for youth ages 9 and up who are interested in learning about their neighborhood and documenting it through drawing, writing, photography and story telling. Students are learning how to interview and edit stories so they can make ready for radio sound pieces. If you live in Remington they may come knocking soon on your door to ask you to share a neighborhood story or ask your opinion on a community issue. If you would like more information, know a young person from Remington that would like to be involved or would like to be involved yourself….(be interviewed! help with the class! mentor a radio student! Lend your photography or audio skills! assist with class meals!) please contact RYCR program director Beth Barbush 410-322-7080 ebarbush@gmail.com

Pocket Gardens
Peter Babcox has worked and continues to work with several groups, including Remington youth and adults, local non-profit organizations, and Johns Hopkins students (among others) to create the blue pocket gardens that dot the landscape of the neighborhood. Bulbs are planted in the boxes during the fall and winter, and then when spring comes, the neighborhood blooms!

Neighborhood Walks
Every third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm residents meet at the Church of the Guardian Angel and walk the neighborhood, passing out newsletters, picking up trash, and calling in 311 requests. The walks are organized by the Neighborhood Walk Committee.
